An advantage of using presentation software is that it allows the teacher to present to all her studetns at once, rather than them having individual notes in front of them. Also, when using software you can incorporate pictures, powerpoints, and even movies. However, because the students don't have a hard copy in front of them, they might have to take notes to rememeber the information.
I think powerpoints are great ways to organize information. I can organize each slide as a different category. When disecting a poem and looking at tone, theme, characters, ect. it would be practical for me to create a powerpoint using a side for each of the poetic elements to help students understand the parts of a poem.
I hate that students at most school do not have access to youtube. Although youtube is mainly used for entertainment purposes, they do have education and informational videos that could be beneficial to students putting together a project or powerpoint.
